Connecting the Gas Heater
This gas heater may be connected to the gas cylinder by the user without intervention of a qualified
technician. It is therefore necessary to prepare following elements.
Necessary Elements
To switch on the gas heater, you will need:
1 cylinder of commercial butane of 13 kg, bottled only by an official distributor, with following maximum
o
dimensions: a height of 55.5 cm and a base diameter of 30.5 cm.
1 certified pressure regulator.

1 standard gas hose with a length of 0.5 m.
o
2 screw-threaded hose clamp for flexible gas hoses.
o
Please refer to the gas heater's specification tag and contact your gas distributor for more info.
The connection of this gas heater must be done with a flexible hose and a pressure regulator. Contact your
gas distributor.

Refer to the Velleman® Service and Quality Warranty on the last pages of this manual.
6.
Starting the Gas Heater
After carefully unpacking the gas heater:
Remove the door at the back of the gas heater.
Connect the flexible hose to the gas input of the gas heater and to the pressure regulator. Fix with the hose
clamps and make sure the connections are airtight. Do not crimp the gas hose.
Install the gas cylinder inside the gas heater and connect to the pressure regulator. Open the pressure
regulator and check for gas leaks by brushing soapy water on all the fittings and connections of the gas
circuit.
Re-install the door at the back of the gas heater.
For their safety, keep children away from all packaging such as cardboard boxes, foams, plastic bags,
etc.
Only install and replace the gas cylinder in a room void of flammable objects and substances.
This gas heater features a safety mechanism which will switch off the device in case of insufficient ventilation or
if the concentration of carbon dioxide (CO
It is normal if this safety mechanism is triggered in small and closed rooms.
If the pilot light dies out, sufficiently ventilate the room and wait a few minutes prior to switching on the gas
heater.

How to Switch On the Gas Heater
Prior to using the gas heater for the first time or after the gas heater has been stored for a long time,
we recommend, with the pressure regulator closed, repeatedly pressing the buttons a few times.
The gas heater can be set to three heat positions: the maximum, the medium and the minimum position. The
ignition is generated by an electric spark.
Open the gas flow by turning the lever of the pressure regulator toward the marking.
Ignition of the Gas Heater
Fully press the button and turn in an anticlockwise direction.
Hold the button pressed for 20 seconds. Repeat this operation until the pilot light is lit. The pilot light is
located on the lower part of the protection grid (where the ignition sparks are generated). Keep the button
pressed for another 10 seconds after the pilot light is lit. Repeat the steps above if the pilot light dies out
when releasing the button.
