GENERAL RECOMMENDATIONS
Before installing and using the actuator the installer
must read and understand all parts of this manual.
This manual is an integral part of the actuator and must be
&
kept by the installer for any future reference.
This manual was written by TOPP spa, which holds the

GENERAL SAFETY RULES
Installation, ordinary and special servicing, electrical
connection and startup must be performed
exclusively by qualified technical personnel in
possession of the professional requisites foreseen by
the legislation in force in the country of installation.
The installer must have the necessary skills to:
&
- install and start the actuator in compliance with the
directives in force;
- operate with the power on in electrical cabinets and shunt
boxes;
- perform electrical and mechanical adjustments and
maintenance;
- analyze the risks in order to ensure compliance with the
directives and legislation in force regarding safety of use of
the actuator.
The installer shall furnish the user with all information
&
relative to automatic, manual and emergency function of the
motor-operated system, and deliver the instructions for
use which are inside the package. The user must also be
informed about the risks of accidents, the safety devices for
the operators and the general accident-prevention rules
foreseen by the international directives and laws in force in
the country of use of the actuator.
The safety plate (Fig. 4) must be applied directly to the
&
outside of the actuator or near it and, in any case, in a position
clearly visible by the installer and/or operator.
&
Do not remove or alter the plates or labels applied by the
manufacturer on the actuator and its accessories.

&
parts and any use of accessories or consumable materials
different from the originals may cause a risk of accidents and
relieves the manufacturer from any civil and criminal liability.
&
physical, sensorial or mental capacity, or lack of expertise,
unless supervised and instructed in the use of the device by a
person responsible for their safety
&
of the reach of children.
The actuator is protected against electrical hazard from direct
and indirect contact.The protective measures against direct
contacts serve to protect people from the dangers deriving
from contact with live parts that are normally powered. The
protective measures against indirect contacts serve to protect
people from the dangers deriving from contact with
conductive parts that are normally insulated, but which could
become live due to malfunctions (breakage of the insulation).
The protective measures adopted are as follows:
- insulation of live parts with a shell in plastic material;
- shielding with an adequate degree of protection;
- passive type protection consisting of the use of parts with
double insulation, also known as parts in class II, or with
equivalent insulation.
The automatic startup of actuators can accidentally generate
the following residual risk:
- Residual risk: Danger of crushing or dragging parts of the
body placed between the mobile and fixed part of the
window.
- Frequency of exposure: Accidental, and when the installer
or user decides to perform an improper action voluntarily.
-Dimension of the damage: Minor injuries, normally
treatable.
- Measures applied: Obligation, before using, to ascertain
that there are no persons, animals or objects that could
accidentally be harmed near the window. Obligation, during
use of the actuator, to stand in a safe position that ensures
visual control of the window's movement.
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
