• Do NOT continue pumping for more than 2 consecutive pumping sessions if no results are
achieved.
• Do not thaw frozen breast milk in a microwave or in a pan of boiling water. Do not
microwave breast milk. Microwaving can cause severe burns to baby's mouth from hot
spots that develop in the milk during microwaving. (Microwaving can also change the
composition of breast milk.)
• If you are a mother who is infected with Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C or Human
Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV), pumping breast milk will not reduce or remove the risk of
transmitting the virus to your baby through your breast milk.
• If problems or pain occurs, consult your lactation consultant or physician.
