STARTING UP
Filling the domestic hot water circuit
For domestic water use, fill the accumulator with cold water and remove the air from the tank by opening a valve to decant the hot water. As
soon as water starts running out of the hot water valve, close it.
Only a qualified technician is authorised to start up the unit.
- The unit must never be turned on when it is empty, as this risks damaging its electrical components, if using an optional electrics kit.
- Check that the various seals are tight. If necessary, retighten the bolts (recommended 7 to 10 Nm – torque spanner) or the connec-
tions.
- Never block the safety assembly opening.
Cleaning the appliance
Before filling the appliance, clean the tubes to remove any residue from production and assembly.
Even small quantities of foreign matter can act as a catalyst and cause decomposition of the heat transfer fluid.
Flush the appliance thoroughly to remove any residue.
Drain the appliance completely.
ADVICE FOR INSTALLATION WITH SOLAR SENSORS
Filling and flushing the solar section
The appliance must only be filled and commissioned if a heat extractor is used.
• Open all the stop and purge devices; in particular all the purge devices on the sensor hydraulic connections.
• Operating with just water in the solar circuit is not permitted, even in areas not at risk of freezing (no protection
• The heat transfer fluid is a propylene glycol mix, which is non-toxic and not physiologically harmful.
• Respect the instructions given in the safety sheet.
• Fill the appliance with heat transfer fluid using a pump via the filler valve; close the stop and purge devi-
ces as soon as fluid comes out. Collect the fluid from the drainage valve in a separate container until the heat trans-
fer fluid comes out to remove any water remaining in the sensors from the appliance. Stop the filling process
and connect the drainage valve to the pump.
• Circulate the fluid at a pressure of 3.5 bar for 2 hours until purging is complete.
• Before finishing the filling procedure, adjust the pressure of the appliance and slowly close the valve.
Pressure of the solar section
The pressure of the appliance depends on the height of the system and the pressure at the expansion chamber inlet.
• Check the pressure and, if necessary, open the valves and adjust the pressure again; once the filling pressure is reached, close the filler/drain
valve.
• Check that there is absolutely no air in the appliance by activating the manual deaerator at the highest point on the appliance. If necessary,
repeat the flushing operation.
• If a purge device with a duct and connection is used, please be aware that a quantity of fluid at least equal to the volume of the small venting
tube must be evacuated: 0.3 cl per metre for a tube diameter of 6 mm.
Commissioning the solar pump and solar regulator
When doing so, observe the related instructions for use.
• Check the plausibility of the temperatures displayed during commissioning,
• Check the operation of the pump and the regulator at the solar circuit,
• Programme the regulator, the pump and the flow limiter, where applicable, as per the appliance's hydraulic diagram.
Adjusting the flow
The flow must be programmed based on the dimensions of the collector area and the type of connection. The reference surface in this case is
the surface of the absorber.
