Wind direction
The wind direction is understand to be the
direction from where the wind is blowing. This
means that northely wind is blowing from the
North towards the South. The wind direction is
indicated in 8 compass points namely the 4
main compass points and the 4 intermediate
compass points. The abbreviations on the
instrument are based on the English language.
In explanation:
N = North
NE = North/East
E = East
SE = South/East
S = South
SW = South/West
W = West
NW = North/West
The wind direction is indicated as an average
over a certain period of time.

Note: Obstacles as trees and buildings,
closely to the weather vane, have great
influence to the pattern of the air flow.
Keep this in mind when selecting a loca-
tion for the rotor/vane-unit and where
appropriate when interpreting the wind
direction indicated by the instrument.
