Drilling steel
Set the changeover switch (Drill/ Impact drill) on the Drill position. Use the HSS drill and a low
rotation speed when working with steel.
Screwing in / loosening screws

speed.
Drilling holes
When you would like to drill deep holes in hard materials, such as steel, we recommend that
you first pre-drill the hole with a small drill.
Drilling in tile
Set the changeover switch (Drill/Impact drill) on the Drill position and drill the hole.
Set the changeover switch (Drill/Impact drill) on the Impact Drill position as soon as the drill has
penetrated the tile.
Motor cool down
If the motor has intensely overheated, allow it to run idle for 2 to 3 minutes on maximum
rotation speed.
MAINTENANCE
Before all care and maintenance work:
-
Turn the machine off.
-
Pull out the power plug.
-
Wait until the machine is still.
Cleaning
Clean the machine regularly after each use from dust, shaving, wood splinters etc. Clean the
machine with a moist cloth and some soft soap. Do not use any detergents or solution; these
can corrode the plastic parts of the machine. Make sure that no water reaches the inside of
the machine.
Service
There are no parts on the inside of the machine which require maintenance by the user. Should
the machine fail to function, have it checked by a technician. Use only original re- placement
parts.
Inspecting the carbon brushes
The motor employs carbon brushes which are consumable parts. Since excessively worn
brushes could result in motor trouble, have them replaced immediately with identical ones
when they become worn to or near the limit. The check and replacement of the brushes should
only be carried out by an authorized service center using only original spare parts to ensure
the integrity of double insulation. Always keep carbon brushes clean and ensure they slide
freely in the brush holder.
