Recommended spark plug: BMR - 4A and W14 MR - U
To ensure that the engine runs well, the spark plug must not have any deposits and its gap must be correct.
1 - Remove the spark plug cap and remove the plug using a spark plug wrench.
2 - Inspect the spark plug and discard it if the electrodes are worn or if the porcelain is cracked or scaled. If the spark plug is being reused, clean it with a metal
brush.
3 - Measure the electrodes gap with a feeler gauge. The gap must be between 0.7 and 0.8 mm. Rectify if necessary by bending the side electrode.
4 - Check that the spark plug washer is in good condition and screw the plug by hand to avoid crossing the threads.
5 - Once the spark plug is installed, tighten it with a spark plug wrench to compress the washer.
NOTE: In the case of a new spark plug being fitted, screw it by hand and tighten it by ½ turn with a spark plug wrench to compress the washer.
If the spark plug has already been used, screw it by hand and only tighten it by 1/8 to 1/4 turn to compress the washer.

- Clean the generating set using a brush and cloth (water jet cleaning is not recommended). Remove dust and debris around the exhaust muffler and the cooling
fins.
- Clean the engine and alternator air inlets and outlets. Make the most of this cleaning by checking the general condition of the generating set and change any
defective or worn parts.
