SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
• Please see manual "Safety Instructions" which is
supplied together with this instruction manual.
• CAUTION! When sanding materials such as lead
paint, certain types of wood and metal, the dust pro-
duced is harmful/toxic. It is important to determine
whether the paint being sanded contains lead or not
before starting work. Protect yourself from inhaling this
dust, in compliance with current regulations on acci-
dent prevention, by wearing a mask designed for work-
ing with lead paint and fumes.

• WARNING! Pregnant women and children should not
enter any area where paint is being sanded until it has
been thoroughly cleaned. Pregnant women and chil-
dren are at greater risk from lead poisoning.
• For your personal safety, always connect the machine
to a mains supply protected by a differential and ther-
mal cutout switch, in accordance with regulations on
low-voltage wiring sitemaps.
• Do not pierce the motor housing as this could damage
the double insulation (use adhesive labels).
• Remove the pin from the base of the plug before
carrying out any adjustment, repairs or maintenance.
• CAUTION! Before each use, inspect the plug and
lead.
an official service centre.
• Keep the mains lead clear of the working range of the
machine. Always lead the cable away behind you.
• Only plug-in when machine is switched off.
• When using the machine, always wear safety goggles,
gloves and non-slip footwear, and it is advisable to
wear ear protection.
• Hold the machine by the insulated grip areas when
carrying out any operation in which the cutting tool
may touch hidden or its own lead. If a live wire makes
contact with any of the machine's exposed metal parts,
it may give the operator an electric shock.
• Hold the machine firmly in both hands.
• Make sure that the belt is not in contact with the part to
be worked on before switching on.
• Keep hands away from rotating parts.
• Do not put the machine down whilst it is operating.
Use it only when holding it in your hands.
• Do not allow the machine to get wet, nor should it
be used in wet environments. Do not allow the sur-
face of the part being worked on to come into con-
tact with water.
• Do not touch the sandpaper during or immediately
after working, as it becomes very hot and can cause
serious burns.
• Never attempt to clean off dust or shavings resulting
from sanding when the machine is operating.
APPLICATIONS
The rectangular base of orbital sanders performs very
fast, small circular movements without rotating. The
result is very smooth, scratch-free. Most tools have a
perforated base through which dust is vaccumed, when
using perforated abrasive sandpaper. They are used to
obtain a fine finish.
WARNING! Any use differing from the above is strictly
forbidden.
Use only for the following types of work:
1. Finishing wood surfaces
