2. Removing rust and finishing steel surfaces
BEFORE USING THIS TOOL
CAUTION! Before carrying out any work, check, for
instance, using a metal detector, that there are no elec-
tric wires or gas or water pipes under the surfaces you
wish to work on.
Make sure the mains voltage is correct: it must be the
same as that on the specification label.
Before plugging in the tool, always make sure that the
switch works properly and returns to the "OFF" position
when released.
MOUNTING OF SANDPAPER SHEETS
WARNING: Whenever you work on the machine, always
unplug it first.
First select the the right grain of sandpaper for the
surface to be sanded.
1. Position the sheet at the same level as the side edge
of the supporting pad.
2. Lift and open up the clamping spring and insert the
end of the sheet.
3. Clamp down the spring.
4. Fold the paper over the supporting pad at both ends.
5. Check that the paper is tightly stretched over the pad.
OPERATION INSTRUCTIONS
Intermittent use
This sander is put into operation by pressing switch A.
Switching off: Release trigger switch A.
Continuous use
Switching on: Press the On-/off switch A and then the
locking button J, after that release on-off switch A.
Switching off: Press the On-/off switch A and then re-
lease.
Move the sander over the entire surface to be sanded.
Its weight is pressure enough. Extra pressure merely
slows the sanding action and produces an irregular
finish, in addition to wearing out the sander and sandpa-
per. Do not leave the machine in operation by itself since
it will over-sand the surface.
Always switch the sander on before placing on the
surface to be sanded. Never switch off the sander when
positioned on the surface: first lift off and then switch off.
Do not use the sander without sandpaper since this
would damage the supporting pad. Keep hands away
from the air holes and ensure that neither oil nor water
can penetrate into the motor.
DUST EXTRACTION
Connect a vacuum aspirator suction tube G to the suc-
tion nozzle on machine H either directly or by using
supplied adapter I.
NOISE AND VIBRATION
The machine's noise and vibration levels, measured
in compliance with EN60745-1 and EN60745-2-3,
usually reach:
Acoustic pressure = 60 dB(A)
Sound-power level = 73 dB(A)
Use ear protection!
Vibration acceleration = 3.2 m/s
WARNING! The vibration level given in these instruc-
tions has been measured in accordance with a standar-
dized measurement procedure specified in EN60745
and can be used to compare devices. Different uses of
the device give rise to different vibration levels and in
many cases they may exceed the values given in these
instructions. It is easy to underestimate the vi-bration
load if the electrical power tool is used regu-larly in
particular circumstances.
Note: if you wish to make an accurate assessment of
the vibration loads experienced during a particular
period of working , you should also take into account the
in-tervening periods of time when the device is switched
off or is running but is not actually in use. This can result
in a much lower vibration load over the whole of the
period of working.

MAINTENANCE AND CARE
WARNING−Always unplug the machine before carrying
out work on it.
Warning! Type Y attachment. If the supply cord is
damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its
service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to
avoid a hazard.
- Inspect the mounting screws: Regularly inspect all
the mounting screws and ensure they are firmly tight-
ened. Should any screw be loose, tighten it immediate-
ly. Failure to do so could put you at serious risk.
- Motor maintenance: Do not press too hard when
using the sander. Excessive pressure may produce an
overload and damage the motor or the part being
sanded.
- To clean the sander thoroughly after use, unplug it from
the mains and use a dry brush to clean all orifices.
- The vents of the machine should be kept clear at all
times. Use a clean damp cloth to clean the protective
covers (do not use solvents or petrol).
- Check that the mains lead is in good condition. If it is
not, take it to an Official Service Centre to have it
replaced.
- Use only Felisatti accessories and spares. The parts
the changing of which is not covered in this instruction
manual, should be replaced in a Felisatti Official Ser-
vice Centre.
Do not dispose of electric tools in
the household waste!
In accordance with European Directive 2002/96/EC
relating to old electrical and electronic appliances and
its translation into national law, used electric tools must
be collected separately and recycled in an ecologically
desirable way.
