A. Activate/Deactivate the detector
The device is deactivated by default before leaving our factory.
Before the detector can be used, it must be activated with the
switch on the
counterclockwise off the detector by aligning the lines (Figure 1).
Power on: Set the switch on the back of the detector to "ON".
Power off: Set the switch on the back of the detector to "OFF".
CAUTION
The installation instructions must be followed strictly to avoid
unsafe conditions.
Do not paint your detector.
The battery cannot be replaced; do not try to replace the
battery as this will render the detector unuseable and can
cause a fire due to the high-capacity lithium battery.
B. Test your alarm
Test the detector to ensure proper operation by pressing the test button (= centre front of
detector). The alarm will sound if the detector is working well. If there is no sound, refer to the
"Trouble shooting" section.
CAUTION
DO NOT test your detector using an open
flame. This may damage the detector or
ignite combustible materials and start a
structural fire.
Test the detector at least once a month.
DO NOT stand close to the detector when the alarm is sounding. Exposure at close range may
be harmful to your ears.
