Generator Maintenance
Generator maintenance consists of keeping the unit dean
and dry. Operate and store the unit in a dean dry
environment where it wiHHnot be exposed to excessive
dust, dirt, moisture or any corrosive vapors. CooHing air
shots in the generator must not become cHoKed with snow,
Heaves or any other foreign materiaH.
NOTE: DO NOT use a garden hose to dean generator.
'Water can enter engine fuel system and cause probHems. In
addition, if water enters generator through cooHing air sHots,
some of the water wiHHbe retained in voids and cracks of
the rotor and stator winding insuHation.V_%ter and dirt
buiHdup on the generator internal windings wiHH eventuaHHy
decrease the insuHation resistance of these windings.

WHEN ADJUSTmNG OF[ MAKmNG REPAIRSTOYOUR

• Disconnect the spark plug wire from the spark plug and place
the wire where it cannot contact spark plug.
WHEN TESTING FOR ENGINE SPARK
Use approved spark plug testett

Data tag information is very important if you need heHp from
our Customer Service Department or an authorized service
dealer.
The data tag (Figure 9) is located on the engine support on
the muffler side of the generator, For future reference, pHease
copy the modeH_ revision_ and seriaH number of the generator
in the space below.
