6.3 ENGINE OIL
Procedure
PORTABLE GENERATOR
Perform the procedure below to change the engine oil.
1.
Place the generator on a level surface and warm up the engine for several
minutes. Stop the engine and turn the switch knob and fuel tank capair vent knob
to "OFF".
2.
Remove the screw (a) and then remove the cover (b).
3.
Remove the oil filter cap (c).
4.
Place the oil pan under the engine.Tilt the generator to drain the oil completely.
5.
Replace the generator to a level surface.
Note: In the interest of environmental protection, place a plastic sheet and a container
under the machine to collect any liquid that drains off. Dispose of this liquid in
accordance with environmental protection legislation.
Notice: Do not tilt the generator when adding engine oil. This could result in overfilling
and damage to the engine.
WARNING
Avoid draining the engine oil immediately after stopping the engine. The oil is hot and
should be handled with care to avoid buirns.
6.
Add engine oil to the upper level.
7.
Wipe the cover clean and wipe up any spilled oil.
8.
Install the oil filler cap.
9.
Install the cover and tighten the screws.
WARNING
Most used oil contains small amounts of materials that can cause cancer and other
health problems if inhaled, ingested, or left in contact with skin for prolonged periods of
time.
Take steps to avoid inhaling or ingesting used engine oil.
Wash skin thoroughly after exposure to used engine oil.
