Pole cover precautions
Pole assembly
(WARNING: the cutting edges of the chain are sharp. Use protective gloves when handling the chain.)
1. Lay the chain flat.
2. Turn the adjustment screw anticlockwise (see Figure 1). Continue turning the adjusting screw until the adjusting
block is at the rear of the adjusting plate.
3. Fit the guide bar to the saw body. Place the rear of the guide bar between the adjustment plate and the pinion
Never stand directly under the limb you are trimming. Always position yourself in the
path of falling debris.
Never stand on a ladder or other type of unstable support when using the pole saw
Always use both hands to operate the pole saw. Keep firm and constant pressure on the
pole saw when cutting, but do not try to force the saw through the wood.
Do not use the pole saw to cut limbs larger in diameter than the length of the guide bar
Keep other people away from the cutting end of the pole saw and at a safe distance from
the work area
Do not use the pole saw near cables, power supplies or telephone lines. Maintain a
minimum clearance of 10 feet from all power lines.
