Using the machine
You can use the machine after unpacking it, reading the instructions and checking that it has been
assembled correctly.
Use the appliance at reasonable times, when there is no risk of disturbing neighbours: not too early in
the morning, not too late in the evening, and not at weekends or on public holidays.
Find out about the local regulations in force.
1. Avoid cutting wet grass: it tends to stick to the wire and the protector and hinders the removal
of rubbish.
2. Wait for the appliance to come to a complete stop before setting it down. Never touch the
cutting mechanism or the machine before it has come to a complete stop and been
disconnected from the mains.
3. Regularly remove any debris or other dirt that has accumulated around the cutting head;
switch the appliance off beforehand.
4. Take particular care when working near bushes or trees: the wire can damage soft bark and
fence posts.
5. Keep up the pace of your work. Always remain upright, with your feet well apart. Pass the
trimmer from right to left so that any detritus can be ejected from the working area.
6. If the grass is very tall, cut it in several layers from top to bottom.
7. Keep the cutting head at an angle of approximately 30° to the ground. Never press it against
the ground: this would damage it and the lawn.
8. Carefully manoeuvre the appliance around objects (trees, bushes, etc.), ensuring that it does
not come into contact with them.
9. Never replace the cutting element with a metal cutting element other than the 3-tooth blade
supplied.
10. Always be sure of your footing on slopes. Walk, never run. Always keep your balance, never
lean.
