PROGRAMMING DECODERS
The calling module with directory 1038/16 can be
used by the installer to program decoders. See the

PROGRAMMING METHODS
The calling module with directory can be
programmed in three different ways (in any case,
the module must be powered):
1) Via programming terminal Ref. 1038/55-/56.
This is the recommended programming method
because the terminal display will make the
operations easier. The terminal can be
connected in either of the two following ways:
− Locally, to the programming connector (8) on the
back of the calling module to be programmed.
− To another calling module or concierge
switchboard in the system.
− To any passive wiring junction box (Ref. 1038/90)
connected to the system.
2) Locally, via the keypad, without opening the
module frame. You must know the configuration
password to apply this method.
3) Locally, via keypad, by opening the calling module
and pressing the rear programming button (10).
Attention: Terminal Ref. 1038/55 can be set up
only for English, Italian, French, Spanish and
German.
PARAMETERS
The following parameters will need to be programmed:
A) Operating language
One of the listed languages can be selected in
three consecutive screen forms.
DS1038-011B
OK
KO
B) Installation location
This is a 15 character string used to give a
mnemonic name to the calling module, e.g. "Via
Roma door", "Corso Venezia", "Staircase A",
Staircase B". In fact, up to 30 characters can be
entered but only the first 15 will be displayed in
a quick search. For this reason, it is advisable
to use only 15 characters for the name and the
other 15 characters for additional information.
C) Eleven programming parameters
1) Type of calling station
Available options are Main (to call all
apartment phones and the concierge
switchboard) or Secondary (to all the
apartment phones belonging to the station
riser only).
2) Calling station code
An identification code can be assigned to
each calling station (Main and Secondary).
The available codes which can be allocated
to the calling station depend on whether it is
a main station or a secondary station.
− Main station: code from "1" to "JJJ";
− Secondary station: code from "1" to "JJ"
indicating the riser it belongs to.
3) Busy time
The busy time defines the minimum duration
of a conversation (including the time from
when the call is forwarded to when the user
answers). In order to ensure this minimum
time, the system can switch one or more
calling stations to "Busy" if dealing with
several conversations at the same time. The
following message will appear:
LINES BUSY
Please wait
When a calling module is busy, it cannot be
used to make calls although it can be used
to dial door opener codes.
The busy time can be 10, 20, 30 or 40
seconds.
4) Electrical lock management
The electric door lock can be opened
from an apartment station according to
two methods - "Free" ("LIB") or "Privacy"
("SEG"). In the first case, the door can be
opened at any time while in the latter case
