e) Subsequently, discharge the balance insulation voltage of the tested
through the inner switch of the meter.
Turning the function switch will exit automatically from testing status
during the process
Note:
The charge stored in the insulation will be discharged
automatically when the test button is released. Be careful
not to turn the range switch knob whilst the test button is
pressed, or the instrument will be damaged.
Note:
1000V insulation test make sure that the circuit under
test does not include components which will be damaged
by the 1000V test voltage applied. Many normal
components of an installation are likely to be damaged if
tested at 1000V. Examples are power factor correction
capacitors, low voltage mineral insulated cables, electronic
light dimmers, electronic ballasts and starters for
fluorescent lamps etc...
4. LOW RESISTANCE (CONTINUITY) MEASUREMENTS
a). Set the range switch to 400Ω / •))) Position.
b). Connect the red test lead to the V Ω terminal and black to the COM
terminal.
c). Connect the tips of the test leads to both ends of the circuit under
test. Read resistance in Ω on the LCD. The two ranges (40.00/400.0Ω)
automatically switch; the primary display shows the actual resistance
reading in Ohms and the analogue bar shows the value in relation
to the full scale reading.
d). When the impedance of circuit is below approximately ≤35Ω the
beeper will sound continuously.
e) The short circuit test current is between 200 and 220mA (while the
tested resistance is 0Ω).
