Connection of pressure- or flow control unit
Kongskilde recommends to utilize Kongskildes stand-
ard pressure- or flow control device for automatic
operation.
In both the pressure- and flow control device package,
an external pressure transmitter with 2 terminals is sup-
plied. The standard Kongskilde transmitters are inactive
transmitters. Hence, the DIP switch 2-1 should be put in
position "ON: Inactive pressure transmitter".
IMPORTANT: The external pressure transmitter should
be mounted on a solid foundation without vibrations.
Mounting on the pipe system or the blower itself is not
advised.
Remote operator´s panel
The Multiair blower control box is prepared for a remote
operator´s panel. The remote operator´s panel is of-
fered as an accessory, and should be connected to the
control box. The remote panel can be located up to 100
meters from the blower, and contains the same options
as the operator´s panel.
Remote start / stop
If remote start and stop function is required, Kongskilde
recommends to follow this procedure (please refer to
the electrical schematics):
1. Remote start: Using a potential free set of con-
tacts (external), normally open (NO), the blowers
+24V DC terminals X4.5 is connected together with
X4.6. DIP switch 1-3 has to be in position ON to
activate the remote start. The potential fee set of
contacts just have to be pulsed (connected) for the
Multiair to start.
2. Remote stop: Using a potential free set of contacts
(external), normally closed (NC), the blowers +24V
DC terminals X4.3 is connected together with X4.4,
which is the digital input used for the stop function
pulse. DIP switch 1-6 has to be in position ON to
activate the remote stop. The potential free set of
contacts will now need to be opened for the Multiair
blower to stop.
3. Remote start / stop: Using a potential free set of
contacts (external), normally open (NO), the blow-
ers +24V DC terminals X4.5 is connected together
with X4.6, which is the digital input used for start /
stop signal. The blower will only operate when the
potential free contact is connected. DIP switch 1-4
should be ON to activate start / stop with hold sig-
nal.
Potential free status signals
The Multiair control box is equipped with 2 potential
free set of contacts which enables external monitoring
of the blowers status. See the electrical schematics for
the Multiair blower in question.

Operation signal: Potential free, normally open (NO)
contacts, can be located on terminal X3.3 and X3.4
(max. 24V DC). An operating signal will be available on
terminal X3.3 and X3.4.
Fault signal: Potential free, normally closed (NC) con-
tacts, can be located on terminal X3.5 and X3.6 (max.
24V DC). A fault registered in the control box will be
available on terminal X3.5 and X3.6, and be visible in
the service menu (see section "Service menu").
Warning signal: Potential free, normally closed (NC)
contacts, can be located on terminal X3.1 and X3.2
(max. 24V DC). A warning registered in the control box
will be available on terminal X3.1 and X3.2, and be vis-
ible in the service menu (see section "Service menu").
Emergency stop: An external emergency stop can be
connected between terminal X4.1 and X4.2.
At activation, the operator´s panel will indicate "941".
When the emergency stop is reengaged, the display
will show "051" or "080", depending on the type of AC
drive. This can be deleted by pushing "Reset", where
after the blower can be started by pushing the "Start"
button (see section "Troubleshooting").
An external reset can be made by supplying terminal
X4.7 with 24V DC.
Electrical installation:
The Multiair blower can be delivered in versions for 200
- 240 V, 380 - 500 V and 525 - 690 V voltage.
All local factory inspectorate regulations must be com-
plied with.
Check that the on site electricity supply is suitable for
the Multiair blowers electrical equipment (control box
and AC drive).
See also the separate instructions for the blowers elec-
trical equipment, that is available inside the blowers
enclosure.
When the supply cable is guided through the bottom
of the blower, it is important to ensure that the isolation
mat is fully pressed against the blowers bottom. If it is
not, there is a risk of the AC drive´s fan pulling hot air
from inside the Multiair´s cabinet.
To the left of the supply cable´s relief, at the lower part,
there is 4 vacant hole that could be used for control
wire cable reliefs or the like.
It is important that the blower is potential equalized via
the terminal to the left of the supply cable´s relief.
Depending on the installation and the blower model,
the maximum performance can be less than 100%,
since the blower in various models is automatic power
limited, see figure 4.
