How to Fit an Amputee Comfort Sling

Move the 4-point cradle into position above the
patient. Attach the amputee spreader bar. Keep
the 4-point cradle away from the patient's face.
Attach the shoulder strap and leg loops to the
respective front and rear hooks on the 4-point
cradle and the amputee spreader bar.
Fitting the Sling from a Recumbent Position

From the recumbent position, roll the patient onto
the sling using the draw sheet roll technique.
Ensure the bottom of the sling is just behind
the knees.
Joerns Healthcare recommend slings are checked regularly and before use for fraying or damage.
Amputee Comfort Sling

Raise the lift to the required height.
NOTE: It may be necessary to support the head
whilst the patient is suspended.

Ensure the sling is flat under the patient. The top
of the sling should be at head height and level
across the top and bottom edges.
