Power does not come
on.
Power plug is not plugged into the receptacle.
Plug
in power cord.
Power switch is off.
Turn on power switch.
Fuse is blown.
Replace fuse.
Lamp door is not closed tightly.
Close lamp door completely.
Lamp module is not installed incorrectly.
Reinstall lamp module correctly.
No light output.
Power plug is not plugged into receptacle.
Plug in power cord.
Power switch is off.
Turn on power switch.
Fuse is blown.
Replace fuse.
Lamp door is not closed tightly.
Close lamp door completely.
Lamp module is installed incorrectly.
Reinstall lamp module.
Turret misaligned with light port.
Set turret to detent position (light port
aligned).
Lamp burned out.
Replace lamp.
Fiber bundle is not connected.
Connect fiber bundle correctly.
Light attenuator is set to minimum.
Set the light attenuator to minimum
level needed for adequate visualization.
Lamp flickers or dims.
Lamp is getting old.
Replace lamp.
Light source turns off
after a few minutes of
operation.
Obstructed air intake:
overheating causes
thermal switch
trip.
Allow unit to cool (5-10 minutes).
Remove obstruction(s).
Fan not running: overheating causes thermal
switch to trip.
Contact Welch Allyn.
Low light output
Accessory damaged.
Replace accessory.
Lamp is old.
Replace lamp.
Light transmission rod is damaged or con¬
taminated.
Clean with isopropyl alcohol and allow
to dry. Use care not to chip edges.
Contact Welch Allyn for repair.
Several ignition
attempts needed to
start lamp.
Three or fewer ignition attempts are normal.
Replace lamp if four or more ignition
attempts
are required.
