Troubleshooting
Corrective action
Use multimeter to fault-find control system. Does
the fault replicate when using the wireless and plug
in remote control? Check all electrical connections.
Manually override the control system by directly
connecting the valve coil. If this does not operate the
valve replace the coil.
Remove coil and check for magnetic force using a
suitable metallic object e.g. screwdriver shaft placed
inside the coil opening. Replace coil if required
(observe correct voltage 12V / 24V).
Attempt to manually operate by depressing the valve
actuator at each end of the valve spool. Strip and clean
or replace valve.
Remove all rope and respool in the direction indicated
by the drum rotation label.
Refer to the product data sheet for the correct line pull
rating for your winch.
Replace brake. NOTE: Entire brake assembly must be
replaced.
Check and rectify / replace.
Check clutch handle actuation. Remove gearbox and
check internal interface between the locating pin and
ring gear. Clean, re-grease and re-assemble.
Connect the winch to a load and alternately power-in
and power-out to work the rope free. USE EXTREME
CAUTION. Incorrectly spooled rope is likely to be
damaged, replace if required.
Remove gearbox and disassemble gear train. Inspect
and clean sliding ring gear. Replace if necessary. Clean,
re-grease and re-assemble. Pull rope out on freespool,
re-spool and repeat until operating freely.
Check all the plumbing fixtures according to the
installation guidance.
Add oil until full.
Check pressure regulator is correctly set.
Replace pump.
Turn the clutch to the engaged position.
attachment.
Replace gearbox and ensure pressure regulator is
correctly set.
