Keep pressed the
key and then press the
sequence to cancel the salt alarm. Each time the softener
signals a salt alarm, record of time and date of the event will
be kept. It will be viewed on the display.
When the "SALT CHECK" message is displayed and, at the
same time, the buzzer is on, the correct procedure to silence
the alarm is the following:
press the
button, check the number of regeneration cycles

needed before the salt alarm is triggered again, press once
more the
button, add the needed amount of salt in the

brine so as to carry out all the regeneration cycles.
For example, if the salt alert is programmed to warn after 7
regeneration and in the brine tank there is 10 kg. of salt, since
NOA requires 1 kg. of salt for each regeneration, the next
alert "Check Salt" will present when there is yet 3 kgs. of salt
remaining in the brine tank (see chapter 5.6.1)
6) BLACKOUT AND LONG PERIODS
OF INACTIVITY
If a short blackout occurs, it will not cause any problem.
Even if the blackout lasts a few days the softener is able to
store the data. If the blackout is longer than 15 days, we
recommend checking all the settings, day and time included.
In the event of a blackout during the regeneration cycle, the
water softener will save which step it was performing before
the interruption.
Once power is back, the step it was in at the time of the
blackout will start from the begining.
If the water softener is non-operational for a few days,
will need a restart of the regeneration (Par.7.1).
7) MANUAL SETTINGS
7.1 MANUAL REGENERATION
To perform a manual regeneration, press the
seconds.
When the regeneration begins, the writing "REGENERATION
OF RESINS" will appear on the display.
During the regeneration, the display will show the current step
and the time left until completion. The steps will be followed
one after the other untill the valve returns to its service mode
position
To skip to the next step, press and hold the
seconds.
The regeneration is made of the following 4 phases:
B1 Service mode: the machine is operational. Water from
the system comes in, and softened water comes out.
B3 Backwash: it is the quick rinse phase. Water flows in
the tank backwash, mixing and rinsing the resins and
carrying to the drain any impurities that may have formed
in the water softener during its work.
B5 Brine sucking and slow rinse: during the first part, salt
water is sucked and sent in contact with the resins, to-
gether with the hypochlorite produced by the electrodes
(fig. 12 A, D). At the end of this phase, a slow resin rinse
is performed.
B7 Refill and quick wash: water is sent to the brine tank in
order to melt the correct amount of salt that will be used
in the next regeneration. At the same time, a resin rinse
is performed.
During steps B3, B5 and B7 the water softener will send water
to the drain.
When the machine is in service mode B1, the water softener
does not send water to the drain. Water is always supplied
28
during regeneration.

The softener will carry out a regeneration cycle at the time set
in the program (paragraph 5.3).
7.3 RETURNING TO SERVICE MODE
If you want to interrupt a regeneration and make the valve
return to service mode, press the
time.
7.4 RESIN RINSING PROGRAM
The water softener may sometimes dispense salt water, this
problem can be caused by a lack of hydric pressure during
regeneration, which prevents the water softener from being
properly rinsed.
Thanks to the resin rinsing program, the tank will be empty in
a few minutes of the salf water, and soft water will be supplied
again.
In order to star the rinse cycle:
• Press the
on the display.
The water softener will rinse the resins in Backwash mode
(B3) for 5 minutes, then will return to Service mode.
It is possible to interrupt the rinse step at any moment, pres-
sing the
The water softener will interrupt the cycle and will return auto-
matically in operating mode.
This is a very useful function also to decrease pressure in the
cylinder, in case maintenance procedures are to be carried
out (see chapter 10, "MAINTENANCE FOR THE INSTALLER").
8) SETTING WATER HARDNESS USING
THE MIXER
key for 5
R
The water softener supplies hardness-free drinking water.
In some cases, a residual level of water hardness is es-
sential.
By tightening the mixer screw, a small quantity of non-softe-
ned water will mix with softened water near the outlet, raising
the hardness levels of the outlet water.
The more you tighten the mixer screw (fig. 2, MIXER) the more
key for 5
the hardness levels in the outlet water will rise.
R
Please remember that this operation must be carried out very
carefully by the installer, who will have to measure correct
water hardness at the end of the procedure.
9) ANTI-OVERFLOW DEVICE
Our softener is donated by "Anti-overflow" device (fig. 1, B).
It stops excess water from flowing into the brine tank due to
malfunctioning. It detects excess water flowing into the brine
tank, thanks to a float that controls a mechanism that blocks
water flow. The brine level control system is a safety mecha-
nism; consequently, in case it triggers, we strongly suggest to
check its root cause.
Caution: This device only works on the connection between
the valve and the brine tank; it does not replace the overflow
device that must be installed as integral part of our equipment
(chap. 3.6).
10) MAINTENANCE FOR THE INSTALLER
During all maintenance operations, all necessary precautions
must be adopted to preserve the hygienic integrity of the equi-
pment.
Reparations and maintenance must be carried out using ori-
