WARNING
Do not use halogenated hydrocarbon
solvents such as methylene chloride or
1, 1, 1-trichloroethane in this pump.
An explosion can result with aluminium
and/or zinc-plated parts in pump come
in contact with halogenated
hydrocarbon solvents.
Failure to comply may lead to death or
serious personal injury.
WARNING
Do not perform overhaul procedure
prior to releasing all pressure within
system.
• Disconnect air supply line from pump
motor.
• Into an appropriate container, operate
control valve to discharge remaining
pressure within system.
Failure to comply may lead to
personal injury.
WARNING
Do not point a control valve at any
portion of body or another person.
Accidental discharge of pressure and/or
material can occur.
Failure to comply may lead to death or
serious personal injury.
Overhaul
NOTE
Refer to Fig. 3 (page 11) and
Fig. IPB 1 (page 14) for component
identification on all overhaul procedures.
Disassembly
1 Loosen setscrew (34) securing follower
tube (35) to adapter (5) and remove
from pump.
2 Remove o-ring (33) from follower tube.
3 Secure pump assembly in a soft-jaw vise at
adapter (5).
4 Extend rod (30) from primer body (36).Apply
air to motor as necessary.
5 Gently remove nut (32) from rod using an
appropriate size punch in hole of rod to
prevent rotation.
6 Remove primer disc (31) from rod.
7 Push rod into primer body.
Pump tube
(outer components)
8 Rotate primer body using a large wrench or
other suitable tool.
9 Unscrew air motor (3) from adapter (5) and
rotate air motor assembly.
10 Remove o-ring (4) from adapter.
NOTE
Pump tube will break at one of three
places. Unscrew separated portion from
fastened components of pump tube
assembly.
NOTE
If pump was not leaking at top of
tube (18), do not separate adapter
from tube. Components are locked
with threadlocker.
11 Unscrew tube (18) from adapter as required
and remove gasket (6).
12 Clamp retainer (20) horizontally in a soft-
jaw vise.
13 Unscrew primer body
from extension (24).
8
NOTE
Remove valve seat (28) squarely from
primer body. Should valve seat cock
during removal, realign and start again.
Gasket (6) may interfere.
14 Remove valve seat (28)
from primer body.
15 Remove gasket (6) from valve seat.
16 Unscrew extension from retainer.
17 Remove gasket (23) from extension.
18 Remove valve body (27) from extension.
19 Remove stop washer (25).
20 Remove seal (26) from valve body.
21 Remove bearing (22) and seal (21)
from retainer.
22 Unscrew tube (18) from retainer.
23 Remove gasket (6), bearing (19),
and additional gasket (6) from retainer.

(inner components)
24 Remove pin (8) securing coupling (7)
to air motor rod.
25 Unscrew coupling assembly from air motor
rod.
26 Clamp coupling (11) in a soft-jaw vise.
27 Remove upper pin (9) that secures
coupling (7) to rod (10). Unscrew rod
from coupling.
28 Remove lower pin (9) that secures
coupling (11) to rod. Unscrew rod
from coupling.
29 Remove pin (30) that secures piston (17) to
rod (29). Unscrew rod from piston.
