IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS I
When using vacuum cleaner, basic precautions should always be followed,
including the following:

WARNING
To reduce the risk of fire, electrical
shock, or injury:
• Do not use, or charge, vacuum cleaner outdoors or on wet surfaces.
• Do not allow to be used as a toy. Close attention is necessary when used by, or near,
children.
• Use only as described in this manual. Use only manufacturer's recommended tools.
• Do not use with damaged cord or plug, If vacuum cleaner is not working as it should, has
been dropped, damaged, left outdoors, or dropped into water, return it to an authorized
Panasonic Servicenter.
• Do not abuse the cord. Never carry the charger or base by the cord or pull on cord to
disconnect from an outlet; instead grasp the charger and pul! to disconnect. Keep cord
away from heated surfaces. Do not pull cord around sharp edges or corners. Do not
close door on the charger cord.
• Do not handle plug or vacuum cleaner with wet hands.
• Do not put any objects into openings. Do not use with any opening blocked; keep free of
dust, lint, hair, and anything that may reduce air flow.
• Keep hair, loose clothing, fingers, and all parts of body away from openings and moving
parts.
• Do not pick up anything that is burning or smoking, such as cigarettes, matches, or hot
ashes.
• To avoid excessive heat and damage to the unit or batteries, do not operate the vacuum
cleaner on the charging stand.
• Locate the battery charger indoors in a oool dry area not exposed to the weather to avoid
electrical shock and!or cleaner damage.
• Leaks from battery ceils can occur under extreme usage or temperature conditions. If the
liquid, which is a solution of 25-35% potassium hydroxide, gets on the skin (1) wash
quickly with soap and water or (2) neutralize with a mild acid such as lemon juice or
vinegar. If the liquid gets into the eyes, flush them immediately with clean water for a
minimum of ten minutes. Seek medical attention.
• Use only Panasonic charger no. JOD-35U-04A, rated at 120V AC, 60Hz, with 32 mA input
and 4.5V, 300 mA and 1.35 VA output, as supplied by the manufacturer, to recharge.
• This product contains nickel cadmium batteries. Do not incinerate or expose to high
temperatures, as they may explode.
• Use extra care when cleaning on stairs.
• Do not use cleaner to pick up flammable or combustil_e liquids such as gasoline or use in
areas where they may be present.
SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS
Note: Before you plug in your Panasonic vacuum cleaner, make sure that the voltage
indicated on the rating plate located on the battery charger is the same as your local
supply.
