Technical testing procedures

A) Function testing
Function testing of the unit can only be performed on
human subjects or using a suitable simulator.
B) Leak testing of the pressure circuit and error testing
of the display
Notes:
a) For testing to be carried out, the tube connecting the
cuff must be pulled off from the connector plug.
The long connection nozzle on the connector plug,
previously attached to the connecting tube, is now
turned to connect it to the cuff socket on the unit.
Make sure that the connector plug is pushed in as far
as it can go i.e., that the seal on the connection
nozzle is inside the cuff socket.
The remaining connection nozzle on the connector
plug, previously attached to the unit, is connected
either to the Normal (when testing the pressure
reading for error) or to the cuff and a pump bulb with
valve (when leak testing the pressure circuit).
b) If the pressure accidentally exceeds 320 mmHg
when performing the pressure test, an acoustic
76
signal is generated and the measurement value in
the display blanks out every other second. Even if the
pressure continues to increase, the pressure indic-
ated remains at 320 mmHg.
Testing
1. Switch off the unit.
2. Set the pressure preselector switch to 150 mmHg.
3. Press the START/STOP button momentarily.
4. When „0" is flashing set the pressure selector switch
to 240 mmHg and then back again to 150 mmHg.
The unit is in test mode when the display indicates
SYSTOLE, DIASTOLE and PULSE 0 mmHg.
