1. SAFETY WARNINGS
Switch off the device 15 minutes before any work is to be carried out so that it can cool
down.
Do not place the device in direct sunlight.
Switch off the device if the water flow is stopped for a prolonged period of time
Warning: This device
has a UV-C transmitter
Never expose yourself to radiation from UV lamps that are in use. Never stare at the
light source. This can cause severe injury or burns, or even loss of sight.
When the lamps are in use, do not remove the lamps from the reactor or remove the
protective covers.
Do not operate the UV-C emitter when it is removed from the device.
Misuse of the device or damage to the housing may result in hazardous UV-C radiation
leaks. UV-C radiation can be harmful to the eyes and skin, even in small doses.
RISK OF UV-C RADIATION
UV lamps and quartz sleeves must only be handled with protective gloves to avoid
leaving any marks that could alter the quality of the UV emissions.
The reactor must be disconnected from the electrical grid for maintenance by a qualified
person.
In general, any work on the electrical parts must be carried out by a qualified person with
the appropriate authorisation.
Even when switched off, there is voltage in the electrical cabinet. Therefore, make sure
to cut the general power supply located upstream from the electronic unit before any
intervention on the device.
Do not operate the system if any of the cables in the electronic unit or the reactor are
damaged. In this case, it must be replaced by a qualified person to avoid any danger.
To avoid electrical short circuits, do not immerse electrical wires or the reactor in water
or any other liquid.
Do not take electrical measurements at the ballast output (risk of overvoltage)
Unplug the steriliser before performing any maintenance or cleaning operation.
Never undo the quartz sleeve nut when the reactor is under load. The quartz sleeve could
be forcefully expelled from the reactor and injure you.
In case of leakage or micro-leakage, the reactor should be isolated and drained for quick
maintenance.
Do not use the UV reactor for any purpose other than that for which it was designed.
Equipment that is obviously damaged must not be operated.
When replacing the lamps and/or cleaning the quartz sleeves annually, ensure that the
electrical part is in place and properly secured before switching on the steriliser. Ensure
that the nut, washer and O-ring are correctly positioned, otherwise the quartz sleeve
could be forcibly ejected from its receptacle and injure you.
