Installing the Remote
This chapter tells you how to install the remote keypad and
connect it to the drive.

2.1 Planning the Installation

Select the mounting location. The mounting location should
be :
• within 1 to 5 meters (1.1 to 16.4 ft) of the drive,
depending on the length of the connector cable (1-, 3-, or
5-meter)
• easily accessible
• at eye level, if possible

2.2 Mounting the Remote Keypad

ATTENTION: Only qualified electrical
personnel, familiar with the construction and

operation of this equipment and the hazards
involved, should install, adjust, operate, and/or
service this equipment. Read and understand
this instruction manual in its entirety before
proceeding. Failure to observe this precaution
could result in severe bodily injury or loss of life.
To install the Remote Keypad:
Step 1. Disconnect and lock out power to the drive.
Step 1. Refer to figure 2.1. At the desired location, drill six
4.5 mm (3/16 in) holes and cut out the opening in
the enclosure door.
Step 1. Deburr the drilled holes and cutout.
