6. Cleaning, maintaining and storing the device
6.1 Cleaning
Caution!
• In order to avoid inaccurate measuring,
the probe head and the sensor lens
needs to be cleaned after every use.
• Do not submerge the device in water or
expose it to direct moisture.
• The probe head 5 is the most sensitive
part of the thermometer. Treat this part
of the device with particular care when
cleaning the sensor lens 4.
1. For cleaning only use a cotton bud
dipped in a solution of app. 70% alcohol
(Ethanol) (see figure I).
Caution!
• Do not use other chemical agents or
disinfectants to clean as this may
damage the device.
• Make sure here that the tip of the device
is pointing downwards so that none of
the cleaning fluid enters the housing.
2. Then leave the probe head to dry
completely for at least one minute.
6.2 Changing the battery
The battery must be replaced
as soon as the following
symbol appears in the LCD
display 3.
1. Take a small, thin object (e.g. a paper
clip) and press it into the unlocking
opening 6 of the battery compartment
lid 9 while, at the same time, pushing this
opening outwards with both thumbs (see
figure K).
2. Firmly holding the device, carefully lift out
the battery 8 using a small, thin object
(e.g. a paper clip) (see figure L).
