DO NOT mix the fuel with the oil.
You MUST check the engine oil level before each use.
To add engine oil, remove the attachment from the power head and place of a flat, level
surface.
Unscrew the oil filler cap.
Slowly pour 60ml of semi-synthetic 4 stroke SAE 10W30 engine oil into the crank case
until it reaches the top of the oil fill hole. DO NOT overfill. Overfilling the crankcase may
cause excessive smoke, oil loss and engine damage.
If you do overfill, drain the oil in to a suitable container by pouring excess oil out through
the oil filler cap.
Replace the oil filler cap and tighten securely.
11.4
Cutting blade
Clean any resin and plant residue from the blades using a cleaning agent before and after
using the machine.
Lubricate the blade bars with rust preventative oil before long periods of storage.
To ensure good cutting results it is important that the contact pressure between the blades
is correct.
The contact pressure is adjusted by turning the screws on the underside of the bar
clockwise as far as they will go.
Lock the screws using the locking nut on the top of the bar.
Check that the screws are loose enough to allow the washers under the screw heads to
slide sideways.
Install the blade cover to protect the blade when not in use.
11.5
Gearbox maintenance (Fig. 5)
There is a grease nipple on the gearbox to fill the gearbox with grease.
Use a grease gun to fill with grease.
This should be done after every 25 working hours.
11.6
Transport
For transport, do not overfill the fuel tank.
If the generator has been used, allow it to cool for at least 15 minutes before loading it in
to the transport vehicle.
To prevent fuel spillage, the generator should be secured upright in its normal working
position with the start switch in the OFF position and the fuel cap vent lever in the OFF
position.
If transporting over rough terrain, remove all the fuel from the fuel tank.
DO NOT drop or strike the generator when transporting.
DO NOT place heavy objects on top of the generator.
11.7
Storage
The following steps should be taken if you store the generator for more than 30 days.
Drain all the fuel from the fuel tank into a suitable container.
Remove the maintenance cover to gain access to the carburettor.
Turn the engine switch to the 'ON' position and loosen the carburettor drain screw to allow
the fuel in the carburettor to drain into a suitable container.
Remove the spark plug HT lead cap and pull the recoil starter handle three to four times to
remove all the fuel from the fuel lines.
Turn the engine switch to the 'OFF' position and tighten the carburettor drain plug screw.
Change the engine oil.
Remove the spark plug and pour a tablespoon of fresh engine oil down the cylinder bore.
