ATD was restrained by a three-point belt with a commercial wheelchair-anchored lap belt and surrogate shoulder
belt. Testing was conducted with: Synthesis (WC-19) 24" seat width, 13° seat tilt, 18.5" seat depth, mag wheel hole
position # 2. Broda does not recommend the Synthesis be transported with an occupant in any position other than the
tested configuration.
The WC-19 test was conducted using 48kph (30mph) and 20-g average impact conditions to determine the frontal
impact response of the wheelchair.
The Synthesis Vehicle Transport Option (Synthesis Transport Chair) is available factory installed only. It can NOT
be retrofit to existing models or serviced in the field.
The Broda Vehicle Transport Option consists of:

Use only Wheelchair Tie Down and Occupant Restraint Systems which meet the requirements of SAE J2249.

Chairs involved in vehicle accidents should be taken out of use immediately.
If a problem is detected with any of the Vehicle Transport Option components or any components of the chair,
remove the chair from service and contact Broda immediately
