1 --- Positioning on site
1.1 -- Inspection
On receiving the equipment immediately inspect its condi-
tion. Any damage must be reported to the transport compa-
ny at once.
1.2 -- Transport and storage
S During transport avoid the exerting of pressure on the
top edges of the packing.
S The units with their packages can be stacked for max.
three units/stack, overlapping them.
S Unpack the unit as close as possible to its installation
position.
Once unpacked, remove the protection film from the
unit's surfaces. Avoid stress being transmitted to its
internal components.
1.3 -- Choosing the installation site
The installation site must guarantee the following:
S A sufficient supply/dispersion of air to allow operation in
even the severest conditions.
S A service area around the unit (for maintenance).
OUTDOOR POSITIONING:
S The unit is weatherproof and does not require a protec-
tion roof (all instruments are covered, the fans have IP 54
protection; (HCE07/10 fans are IP44).
S As a whole, the unit has a protection degree of IP x 4.
S Ensure that solid particles (eg. leaves) will not be sucked
into the condenser.
INDOOR POSITIONING:
S It is of paramount importance that there is a sufficient
passage of air.
S If the room height is less than 4 m the condenser must
be positioned vertically (see para. 1.6).
plant engineering and safety ---prevention regulations in
force.
All operations which require removal of covers on instru-
ments and electrical switches using tools must be per-
formed by expert personnel, as these contain rotating com-
ponents.
For identification of the unit (model and serial no.) in case of
the necessity for assistance or spare parts, locate the identi-
fication label placed on the outside of the unit.
IMPORTANT: this manual may be subject to modification; for com-
plete and up --- to--- date information the user should always consult

NOISE CONSIDERATIONS:
S Use of the Variex (see para. 2.5.2) allows a HCE to be
placed in residential areas.
1.4 -- Vertical flow positioning (standard) (Fig. 1)
In order to allow sufficient air flow through the unit and
space for any eventual maintenance, the Service Area
should be left free of obstructions.
NOTE: If a vertical height of 4m cannot be guaranteed, duct
the unit (para. 1.5) or position it vertically (para. 1.6).
Legs are supplied as standard.
1.5 -- Vertical flow positioning with expulsion duct
(Fig. 2)
S Fig. 2 shows a typical example of a ducted unit.
S The Service Area in Fig. 1 must be respected, except for
the vertical height.
NOTE: Ducting not supplied by us
1.6 -- Horizontal flow positioning (Fig. 3)
The condenser can be vertically positioned as described.
ATTENTION: ALWAYS POSITION THE CONDENSER SO
THAT THE REFRIGERANT ENTERS FROM THE TOP AND
THE LIQUID EXITS FROM THE BOTTOM (SEE Fig. 4).
