7.2 Troubleshooting table
The table below will help you to locate and solve small problems.
Problem
Water is leaking out
of the bottom of the
appliance.
Water is leaking out
over the edges of the
portafi lter.
The appliance does not
work.
Coff ee comes out of the
portafi lter outlet spout
slowly.
The coff ee is passing
through the machine too
quickly.
The espresso is cold.
Possible cause
The drip tray is full.
The water tank is not inserted
into the appliance correctly.
The appliance is defective.
The portafi lter has not been
attached correctly.
There are some coff ee grounds
on the edge of the portafi lter.
The plug has not been inserted
into the power socket correctly.
The coff ee beans are ground
too fi nely.
Too much coff ee in the portafi l-
ter basket.
The ground coff ee is tamped
too tightly.
The portafi lter basket is blo-
cked.
The coff ee beans are ground
too coarsely.
Not enough coff ee in the porta-
fi lter basket.
The ground coff ee not tamped
tightly enough.
The appliance and thus the
pipes inside it have not been
pre-warmed.
The cups have not been pre-
warmed.
Possible solution
Empty the drip tray.
Insert the water tank into the
appliance correctly.
Remove the plug from the
socket. Do not continue to use
the appliance. Contact our
Customer Service.
Attach the portafi lter correctly.
Remove the leftover coff ee
grounds from the edges of the
portafi lter.
Insert the plug into the power
socket correctly. Contact our
Customer Service if the applian-
ce still does not start after this.
Pay attention to how coarsely
you grind the beans.
Pay attention to the basket's
"Max. " mark.
Apply less pressure when tam-
ping the ground coff ee.
Clean the basket with a needle.
Pay attention to how coarsely

Warm up the appliance as de-
