WARNING
Some pump components have a limited life span.
All components should be inspected frequently and
replaced if they are worn, damaged, broken, cracked
or missing.
Risk of electric shock :
Hazardous voltage. Can cause electric shock, burns
or death. To reduce the risk of electric shock, do
NOT use an extension cord to connect the appliance
to the power supply. Provide a properly located
outlet. All electrical wiring must be done by licensed
electricians. All electrical wiring MUST comply with
applicable local and national codes and regulations.
Before working on the pump or motor, disconnect
the motor wiring.
Do NOT bury the power cord. Place it on the ground
so that it cannot come into contact with lawnmowers,
hedge trimmers and other equipment.
Connect only to a grounded outlet protected by a
ground fault circuit interrupter. Contact a licensed
electrician if necessary.
Failure to secure the pump to the pool structure
increases the risk of electric shock and can result in
injury or death. To reduce the risk of electric shock,
refer to the installation instructions and consult a
professional electrician on how to secure the pump.
If the installation is not carried out in accordance with
the specified instructions, this can lead to serious
risks to people. The use of unauthorised spare parts
invalidates the warranty.
Risk of blockage by suction :
Blockage in suction intakes and/or suction intake
covers, which are damaged, broken, cracked,
missing or loose, can cause serious injury and/or
death due to the following entrapment hazards:
Hair entanglement - Hair can become entangled in
the suction outlet cover.
Limb intrusion - A limb inserted into an opening in
a suction outlet sump or suction outlet cover that is
damaged, broken, cracked, missing or loose may
become trapped.
Body suction entrapment - Pressure applied to
a large part of the body or limbs can result in
entrapment.
Mechanical blockage - It is possible for jewellery,
swimwear, hair ornaments, fingers, toes or knuckles
to become trapped in an opening in the suction port
cover, causing a mechanical blockage.
Reduce the risk of blockages:
• Where intakes are small enough to be blocked
by one person, at least two functional intakes per
pump should be installed. Suction outlets located
on the same plane (i.e. floor or wall) should be
installed at a minimum distance of one metre,
measured from one close point to the other.
• Double suction fittings should be placed at
locations and distances that prevent «double
blocking» by a user.
• Double suction fittings should not be located on
the seats or backrest for such seating areas.
• Never use the pool if any component of the suction
outlet is damaged, broken, cracked, missing or
loose.
• Replace damaged, broken, cracked, missing or
loose components of the suction port immediately.
• It is recommended that an exhaust or ventilation
system be installed to release the suction.
Risk of fire and burns :
Engines operate at high temperatures and if not
properly insulated from flammable structures or
foreign debris, can cause fires that can result in
serious injury or death. It is also necessary to allow
the engine to cool for at least 20 minutes before
servicing to minimise the risk of burns.
Dangerous pressure :
Pool water circulation systems operate under high
pressure during start-up, normal operation and
after the pump has stopped. Keep away from the
circulation system equipment during pump start-up.
Failure to follow safety and operating instructions
may result in violent separation of the pump housing
and cover due to system pressure, which could
result in property damage, serious injury or death.
Before servicing the pool water circulation system,
all system and pump controls must be in the off
position. The manual filter relief valve must be in the
open position if it is part of the filtration system.
Before starting the system pump, all system valves
must be set in a position that allows the system
water to flow back into the pool. Do not change
the position of the filter control valve (not included
with the pump) while the system pump is running.
Before starting the system pump, fully open the
manual air release valve of the filter. Do not close the
filter's manual air release valve until a steady stream
of water (no air or air and water) is discharged. All
suction and discharge valves MUST be OPEN when
starting the circulation system.
Failure to do so may result in serious injury and/or
property damage.
