Installing the sensor unit
Note:
• Before finally installing the unit, connect the wiring temporarily, making sure it is all connected up
properly, and the unit and the system work properly.
• Use only the parts included with the unit to ensure proper installation. The use of unauthorized
parts can cause malfunctions.
• Consult with your nearest dealer if installation requires the drilling of holes or other modifications
of the vehicle.
• Do not install the sensor unit where car vibrations may cause it to move such as on the spare tire
board as this may result in unstable car speed pulse output.
• Do not install stacked with other components such as the navigation unit or a multi-CD player.
• Do not install in a location that may become wet when it rains.
• Do not install in a location used for storing luggage or other items as the sensor unit may be dam-
aged by hard knocks and shocks.
• Do not install the sensor unit at an angle larger than 15˚. If the angle is too large, the sensor unit
may not operate correctly.
Sensor unit installation location
• Install the sensor unit in the trunk
(inside the car in 1-box vehicles) on
the side nearest the magnetized tire.
• Install as near as possible to the
magnetized tire.
• Install the sensor unit 5 to 10 cm
away from electronic components
such as a multi-CD player, amp,
speakers and subwoofer. If you
install the sensor unit near to com-
ponents like this, it may pick up
electromagnetic noise.
• In cars that have the battery in the
trunk, install the sensor unit as far
away from it as possible as it may
pick up noise from the battery or
battery cables, resulting in unstable
operation.
