1 Operating Elements
1.1 Front Panel
1 PAUSE button for interrupting the playback
2 EJECT button for stopping the playback and eject-
ing the cassette at the same time

2 Safety Notes
•
The cassette player insertion must only be installed
by authorized personnel and is only suited for being
mounted in the amplifier PA-1200.
•
This appliance corresponds to the EC Directive for
electromagnetic compatibility 89/336/EEC.
•
The unit is only suitable for indoor use.
•
Avoid excessively warm locations for the unit or
high humidity (permissible operating temperature
range 0-40°C).
•
Do not set the amplifier PA-1200 with the installed
cassette player insertion into operation and im-
mediately take the mains plug out of the mains
socket if:
1. damage at the unit or mains cable can be seen,
2. a defect might have occurred after a drop or simi-
lar accident,
3. there are malfunctions.
The unit must in any case be repaired by authorized
skilled personnel.

If the unit is used for purposes other than originally
intended, if it is operated in the wrong way or if it is
not installed or repaired by authorized skilled per-
sonnel, there is no liability for possible damage.
•
Use a dry dust cloth for cleaning only, by no means
chemicals or water.
3 Installation into the Amplifier PA-1200
1) Take the mains plug of the amplifier out of the
mains socket before installing the cassette player.
2) Remove the cover of the amplifier.
3) Remove the blank panel of the cassette insertion at
the amplifier. Insert the cassette player and fasten
it.
4) Screw the cassette player to the side panel of the
amplifier via the supplied bracket (see fig. 2).
5) Insert the 3-pole wire of the connection AN07 at the
main PCB of the amplifier to the pin socket CN07 at
the PCB of the cassette player.
6) Re-install the cover of the amplifier.
4 Operation
4.1 Cassette Playback
1) Before starting the cassette playback it might be
necessary to tighten the tape via rotating one reel.
Insert the cassette into the cassette slot (3) so that
the open side of the cassette points towards the
right. The playback of the cassette starts. The tape
direction is displayed via lighting of the correspond-
ing LED. If the tape is played to the right direction
the LED A (7) lights, if it is played to the left direction
the LED B (6) lights.
2) The cassette player automatically switches to the
other side when reaching the end of one side (con-
tinuous playback). By pressing both the REW (4)
and FF (5) button at the same time, it is possible to
change the sides of the cassette even during play-
back.
3) Adjust the desired volume with the volume control
(8).
4) Press the PAUSE button (1) to interrupt the play-
back. Press this button again to continue the play-
back.
5) Firmly press the EJECT button (2) to stop the play-
back. The cassette is pushed out of the deck (3)
and can be removed. The corresponding LED for
displaying the direction lights even after removing
the cassette. It will continue to light until the ampli-
fier is switched off.
4.2 Fast Forward and Rewind
1) Press the FF button (5) for fast forwarding the tape.
Press the REW button (4) to stop fast forwarding.
2) Press the REW button (4) for fast rewinding of the
tape. The change of tape direction during fast
rewinding is displayed via the corresponding LED.
Press the FF button (5) to stop fast rewinding.
