3.1. GENERAL INFORMATION ON OPERATING THE STAND
• All elements that are secured with tommy screws are also secured with spring-loaded indexing pins (only
exception: T-bar). These indexing pins should be unlocked prior to adjusting the corresponding parts and then
locked to secure its position. The stand should never be operated with the indexing pins unlocked or released!
• The locking pins are released by pulling on the ring. By subsequently rotating the locking pin 90 degrees, it
remains in the released position. Should the pin not easily be released, the pressure may be briefly lessened by a
slight turn of the crank, for example. The pin is automatically secured as soon as it snaps into place into a hole in
the underlying tube, or by a further 90 degree rotation of the pin on the ring, so that the ring fits into the slots of
the hexagon. It is essential to ensure that the pin is completely and securely engaged in the underlying hole.
3.2. SETTING UP THE STAND
• Determine a suitable location and position the stand.
• Loosen the indexing pins and tommy screws at the struts
and pull the legs by sliding the strut until the
1
locking pin locks into the desired position. Then, tighten the tommy screw again.
The legs must be extended completely to ensure maximum stability.
• Check that the stand is vertical and correct if necessary. To do this, loosen the screw and locking pin
to
2
allow for one leg to be extended in order to adjust the vertical position of the stand. Verify the vertical orientation
of the stand using a spirit level.
• Turn the crank handle after unscrewing the knurled nut. Afterwards, retighten the knurled nut.
• Loosening the indexing pin and tommy screw
4
• When the desired height is reached, it must be further adjusted until the indexing pin is re-engaged. Then, tigh-
ten the tommy screw again. When the maximum height of the first level is reached, it locks in place. In addition,
a „STOP" label becomes visible. Make sure that the indexing pin is snapped into place, then tighten the tommy
screw again.
• If the desired height has not yet been reached, the second level of the stand can be extended, after release
of the indexing pin and the tommy screw
Make sure that the indexing pin is snapped into place before the
3
tommy screw is tightened. As soon as it reaches the maximum height, the stand is again locked in position and a
„STOP" label becomes visible.
• Operating the stand without engaging the indexing pins and tightening the tommy screws
is not allowed. If necessary, use a ladder to tighten the tommy screws.
• Finally, rotate the crank approximately a quarter turn to slacken the steel cable.
If the crank is difficult to turn, check the following points:
• Are the indexing pins and tommy screws released?
• Is the load too heavy (max. 85 kg)?
• Does the stand show signs of obvious damage?
