For your own safety and reassurance, we recommend that you carry out
this test every month!
Using the <TEST> button on the control unit, you can check the function of the device and
issue an alarm in the process. The alarm continues as long as you hold down the <TEST>
button. For the save function, press the <RESET> button, thereby clearing the alarm.
Attention: This test only checks the function of the warning device and is not a substitute for
the sensor test. To ensure that the sensor is always in a proper functioning state, you should
replace it after 5 years for safety's sake.
ALARM
The device only triggers an alarm and the LED Sensor flashes red if the sensor has detected
an elevated gas concentration for longer than 20 seconds.
►
Alarm message with storage function: The alarm stays on and the relay is switched
on, until the message is turned off again by pushing button <RESET>.
►
Alarm message without storage function: The alarm continues and/or the relays are
connected until the detected gas has volatilised.
WHAT TO DO IN CASE OF ALARM (or if you smell gas)
Please note the operating instructions of the sensor you are using!
FALSE ALARM
The monitoring system is, in line with its purpose, set to a very high sensitivity. The sensitive
system sensor also responds to other gaseous media. The use of aerosols (gas propellant in
hair, disinfectant, alcohol etc. sprays), as well as strong tobacco fumes (smoking card party)
can lead to a false alarm.
Cable damage or a defect sensor can also trigger a false alarm.
Since we do not have the required test gases available, we give you the concentrations for
the gas sensors as calculated from the data sheet diagrams (see operating instructions
of the sensor). The minimum concentrations take account of component tolerances and the
influence of temperature.
GENERAL
Elektrotechnik Schabus GmbH & Co. KG is not liable for damages and/or losses of any kind
such as individual damages or consequential damages brought about by the gas detector not
issuing an alarm despite the presence of an elevated gas concentration.
To ensure that the sensor is always in a proper functioning state, you should replace it after
5 years for safety's sake.
CLEANING AND CARE
Avoid the effects of moisture (spray or rain water), dust as well as direct insolation on the
device. Clean the device exclusively with a dry linen cloth; in case of heavy dirt accumulation,
it may be slightly moistened. Do not use any detergents containing solvents.
