Non-compliance with these warnings may result in damage to property, electrical shock, entanglement or serious injury, and
could even be fatal.
The warnings, instructions and safety directions that are supplied with this product only refer to general hazards relating to water recreation, and
can never include all specific risks and hazards. Please use your common sense and clear judgement when carrying out any activities involving
water. Read, understand and accurately comply with all directions relating to the installation and use.
Installation
Ensure that the plug is removed from the socket.
1 Using a screw driver, open the heavy fastening clip (A) from the pre-selector (B). Then unscrew the screw ring (C) from the pre-selector (B) and
remove it from the filter housing (D) (see drawing 1). Carefully slide the supplied UV-C lamp into the quartz glass (O). Fit the lamp into the
lamp holder (Q), place the pre-selector with the lamp in the lamp holder on the housing and re-tighten the ring. Click the fastening clip onto the
screw ring of the pre-selector again.
2 Connect the swimming pool hose to the hose connection. During the installation, be extremely careful that the 2 connections (E & R) are in the
correct position (see drawing 2). Connection (E) is the inlet through which the water is sucked into the unit. Connection (R) is the outlet
through which the water is returned to the swimming pool. The cross-section of the outlet should never be smaller than the cross-section of the
inlet. It is also possible to connect the Compact4pool to a PVC tube that is then glued onto the Ø40 mm tube connection (E).
3 Place the Compact4pool at least 20 cm beneath the water surface of the swimming pool. Place it in a permanent position on a solid base. To
prevent the Compact4pool pump from running dry, ensure that the inlet hose is not situated above the water level.
4 Put the plug in an earthed socket outlet, preferably with a hinged cover (see drawing 4). Never place the plug on wet grass or on a wet surface.
5 Check if the lamp is working by looking through the transparent connecting piece (S) between the filter housing and the pump. If the lamp is on, a
blue light should be visible through the transparent connecting piece. If the visibility is poor in the daylight, the lamp can be checked in a dark room.
Assembly / Dismantling / Cleaning
Filter cartridge
The filter cartridge in the Compact4pool can easily be cleaned and is re-usable. In the case of intensive use, the filter cartridge should be cleaned
every two weeks.
1 Remove the plug from the socket.
2 Unscrew the black plastic nuts (L) from the bracket (K) and remove the bracket from the support (M) (see drawing 3).
3 Disconnect the filter housing (D) and remove the filter cartridge (N).
4 You can now clean the filter cartridge.
5 Reposition the filter cartridge (N) over the quartz glass (O) after cleaning and close the filter housing (D).
6 Reposition the black bracket (K) onto the housing and fix it with the matching screws (L).
Quartz glass
The quartz glass tube into which the lamp is positioned must be cleaned at least twice a year. If there is an increase in algae and/or scale, the
quartz glass tube must be cleaned more often.
1 Remove the plug from the socket.
2 Unscrew the black plastic nuts (L) from the bracket (K) and remove the bracket from the support (M) (see drawing 3).
3 Disconnect the filter housing (D) and remove the filter cartridge (N).
4 You can now clean the quartz glass (O) and the filter cartridge.
5 Reposition the filter cartridge (N) over the quartz glass (O) after cleaning and close the filter housing (D).
6 Reposition the black bracket (K) onto the housing and fix it with the matching screws (L).
UV-C lamp
After 5,000 operating hours, the UV-C lamp must be replaced. Ensure that the Compact4pool is always switched off while replacing the lamp. A switch
is integrated inside the lamp holder. When the pre-selector is pulled out of the filter housing with the lamp, the lamp will switch off automatically.
It is only possible to check whether the lamp is on by looking through the transparent connecting piece (S) between the filter housing and the pump.
1 Remove the plug from the socket.
2 Using a screw driver, open the heavy fastening clip (A) from the screw ring (C). Unscrew the pre-selector screw ring (C) manually from the filter
housing (D). (see drawing 3).
3 Slide the transformer slightly backwards and carefully click the UV-C lamp (P) out of the lamp holder (Q); put the transformer temporarily to the side.
4 Remove the used UV-C lamp from the quartz glass and carefully place the new replacement UV-C lamp in the quartz glass.
5 Fix the lamp holder (Q) of the pre-selector (B) to the new lamp. As these parts are very fragile, caution is essential.
6 Test the operation of the lamp via the transparent connection piece between the filter and the pump (see item 5 of the chapter on installation).
7 Following this, re-fit the complete transformer to the filter housing by means of the screw ring (C) and the fastening clip (A).
