The ideal range is between 7.0 and 7.4. If the pH value is too high, this can lead to skin and eye irritations.
It may also render other maintenance measures ineffective. If the pH value is too low, this can cause
corrosion of your fittings.
For better distribution, pH regulator (accessory) is added near the inflow or at several points around the
swimming pool (not in front of the filter).
The information on the product used is to be observed.
Disinfection:
The water in your pool should be an oasis of wellbeing and health, clear and hygienically clean. Due to
environmental influences, dirt particles, germs and bacteria are always entering the water. The latter
increase considerably at water temperatures in excess of 20°C. In order to prevent these influences, we
suggest that you use a so-called 'oxidation agent' in various forms. Primarily, these are stabilised organic
chlorine products, as these are easy to handle and have the best degree of efficiency. Approximately 3 in
every 100 people have an allergic reaction to chlorine products. In this event, we recommend that the
oxygen method be used as an alternative. There are two different chlorination methods: Shock or intermittent
chlorination (rapid chlorination granulate or tablets), e.g. when refilling the swimming pool or in the event of
abnormal measuring results. The second is long-term or continuous chlorination, where slow-release soluble
chlorine products (long-term chlorine tablets) are used, facilitating a constant release of chlorine. The ideal
chlorine value is between 0.3 – 0.6 mg/l.
Preventing algae growth:
Algae are micro organisms which provide nutrients for bacteria. In order to guarantee a hygienically clean
water quality, it is necessary to keep the pool and water free of algae. The use of chlorine alone cannot
always guarantee this, particularly with outdoor pools.
If you use a foam-free, liquid algae prevention agent, there will be no foam build-up in reverse current units
and fountains.
Flocculation:
Some dirt particles are so small that they are not captured by the sand filter (colloids). We recommend that
you use a flocculant to dispose of these. This increases the definition of the filter. Even the finest impurities
are taken up by the flocs or entrapped. The result is crystal clear water. Flocculants may be added as a
precautionary measure.
Perfect spring cleaning:
Spring cleaning is on the agenda – what's the best way to do it?
To make life easier for you, we have summarised the most important steps:
1. Remove coarse impurities with leaf skimmers and rakes to prevent the pool drain becoming
blocked.
2. Now allow your pool to drain completely so that you can also eliminate limescale and stubborn
stains. Draining the pool is necessary to ensure that the cleaning agents are effective, thus forming
the basis for hygienically clean water maintenance. Note: This does not apply to in-ground pools.
Stability must be guaranteed.
3. To clean pool walls and floors, we recommend the basic cleaner: This is an acid cleaner which
fights limescale and encrustation. It does not attack plastics, but it should not come into contact with
acid-sensitive materials such as marble or the pool fittings. Apply the basic cleaner, diluted with
water by a ratio of 1:3 to 1:10 depending on the extent of contamination, and scrub the surfaces well.
