To reduce the risk of injury, do not permit children to use this product unless they are closely supervised at all times.
For hot tubs and spa pumps, do not install within an outer enclosure or beneath the skirt of a hot tub or spa unless
so marked.
SECTION I. INSTALLATION & MAINTENANCE.
A. Notice to Installer.
1. Electric wiring of the motor, installation, repair and service, must be in accordance with local and all other
applicable codes.
2. Do not make any additions, deletions or modifications to the pump, without proper prior approval of the
factory.
3. Pump must be bonded, using a No. 8 AWG or larger conductor, connected to the external bonding wire
connector and to a grounded metal water pipe or metal grounded structure.
4. When pump is installed for use on a jetted bathtub or other fill and drain whirlpool spa or tub, the
suction port of the pump must be below the normal water level of the water (flooded suction), to prevent
running pump dry, which may cause damage to the pump seal. Installation of pump must be per local
codes and all other applicable codes and standards.
5. Be sure there is adequate access for servicing pump and that there is sufficient ventilation whenever
pump is installed indoors or within a complete enclosure.
6. Self-priming model, with strainer housing (hair/lint pot), should not be installed more than (3) three ft.
above water level. Suction line should be 1½ in. pipe.
7. A ground fault circuit interrupter (GFCI) should be installed on the power supply circuit to the pump.
B. Self Priming Model (with the hair/lint pot).
1. To prime the pump - (the pump must be off).
Unscrew lid from pot and fill pot with water to level of suction line.
Inspect the 0-ring and lubricate with a silicone based lubricant. Screw the lid into the pot and hand tighten. The lid
shoulder will come to rest on the pot surface. Stand clear of the filter. Turn the pump on. Depending on the elevation
above water level and horizontal distance of suction line, the priming time will vary. If the filter is installed, open the air
relief valve before turning the pump on, until a steady stream of water comes out, then close the air relief valve. The
pump is now primed.
If the pump is installed below water level, close the return line prior to filling hair/lint pot with water. The line
must be re-opened before turning thepump on.
2. To Clean Basket - (pump must be off).
Follow theprocedure above to prime thepump. After removing thelid, remove thebasket and empty thedebris.
Replace thebasket and proceed to fill thepot with water.
