The scales are used for
weighing household-type
foodstuffs.
Using the scales in a man-
ner other than they were
intended for may damage
them. All warranty and liabil-
ity claims will be rendered
null and void.

To avoid damage to the
appliance please observe
the following safety in-
structions:
– Never immerse the appli-
ance in water. Never leave
the appliance out in the
rain or subject it to any
other form of moisture.
– The appliance is to be used
for household purposes
only and not commercially.
– Do not place any articles
on the scales which weigh
more than the maximum
load capacity (5000g / 9lb
15oz).

INItIAl stArt-up
preparation
• Remove the appliance
carefully from the packaging.
• Remove all packaging
parts and keep these to-
gether with the packaging in
a safe place.
• Turn the underside of the
scales upwards.
Pull the pull-out section
so that the battery compart-
ment (6) is made accessible.
• Pull the red insulating strip
out of the battery compart-
ment to activate the previ-
ously inserted battery.
• Use the selector switch (5)
to choose the required meas-
uring unit (grams/pounds).
• Clean the appliance before
allowing it to come into
contact with any food (see
CLEANING THE APPLIANCE).

caution:
Never set the appliance
down on hot surfaces or
close to naked flame.
The scales can be used
in drawers or on any level
surface.
The pull-out section can
be used to enable the scales
to match the width of the
drawer.
weIGhING
The measuring unit on
the scales can be switched
between grams and pounds
(Selector (5)). A maximum of
5000g or 9lb 15oz can be
weighed.
Switch the scales on
by briefly pressing the tip
switch (3).
Note:
During the start-up phase
(display: 88888) do not place
any food onto the scales.
If the weighing container is
not to be part of the weigh-
ing process:
Place the container onto
the scales (1) and press the
tip switch again.
The display is reset to 0. Fol-
lowing this only the food to
be sliced is weighed.
Note:
If "-----" appears in the
display, the scales' weighing
range has been exceeded. In
such an instance, weigh the
food to be sliced in several
portions successively.
Additive weighing (e.g.
when mixing several
ingredients)
• Press the tip switch again
after weighing an ingredient.
The display is reset to 0. The
next ingredient can now be
weighed.
switching off the scales
• Reset the display on the
scales to 0 (remove weighed
material or press tip switch).
• Press the tip switch. The
scales are switched off.
