06.9 SHORT FLASH DURATION FP (FLAT PEAK)
Fast movement is hard to focus on (e.g. a snowboarder during his jump) because the
time the flash is emitting light is too long. Normally the flat peak of the studio flash
is about 1/500s. This causes motion blur. The DÖRR DMX-600 offers 5 different
settings with flat peak. Independent of the aperture setting this allows to freeze fast
movement and receive a sharp image.
Setting of short flat peak can only be made with DÖRR DMX flash trigger:
Press control key 1 (9) until FP is shown in display.

Press control key 5 (13) to enter the FP time setting. Use button (19) or (20) to select
the desired short flat peak. Confirm setting with confirmation button (21). The flash
trigger saves the setting automatically, when no input is made for 5 seconds.
Which FP setting is most suitable for your motif you may find out by testing. Fol-
lowing FP times are possible to set:
1/20.000 s
1/12.000 s
1/8.000 s
1/4.000 s
1/2.000 s
NOTE
The shorter the FP of your flash, the less flash power is possible to set. The set-
ting FP allows short flat peak for fast image sequences e.g. sportive shots. Set
your camera to continuous shooting mode.
Settings for group B and C
All settings for group A are also possible to set for group B and C. Please note the
setting buttons for group B are control key 2 (10) and control key 6 (14). Further
use control key 3 (11) and control key 7 (15) for group C. The adjustment is done
with buttons (19) and (20). Confirm settings with confirmation button (21). The flash
trigger saves the settings automatically, when no input is made for 5 seconds.

06.10 RPT MODE
Choose RPT Mode (Repeating Flash) for special flash effects. This is a stroboscopic
flash, which releases several flashes during an exposure. This way you may shoot
sportive motion sequences. Choose your exposure time not too short so that all
flashes must be released during exposure.
Example
10 flashes with a frequency of 4. Set the exposure time as follows: 10 x 1/4 (0,25)
seconds = 2,5 seconds.
Press confirmation button (21) for about 2 seconds until RPT is shown in display.
