Transmission indicator
This LED indicates any outgoing
transmission with a red light.
Signal buttons
Function and transmission range can
be tested with the three signal buttons
(»Telephone«, »Door 1« and »Door 2«).
The signal buttons also serve to start
the sound-teaching procedure.
Setup
1. Choosing the best position
The »soundmonitor« scans and ana-
lyses the noises in its vicinity for the
patterns of the sounds it has been
taught.
In order to assist this function, the
»soundmonitor« should be placed as
close as possible to the sound source
it is supposed to identify (for example
placed on a wall underneath the door
bell).
In order to ensure the largest possible
transmission range, please note the
following recommendations:
- The transmitter should not be
placed close to interference-emitting
devices such as TV sets, computer
screens and mobile phones.
- The transmitter should not be placed
on metal objects or surfaces due to
the radio-shielding effect of the
metal.
2. Teaching the desired sounds
Switch the »soundmonitor« on by
shifting the On/Off switch to the »ON«
position.
To teach a new sound, press and hold
one of the signal buttons, located on
the upper face of the device, for 2 to 3
seconds until the adjacent LED of the
button starts to blink.
Trigger the desired sound on the
sound source. The sound should have
a length of one to two seconds.
During the recording, the microphone
status indicator must be lit constantly!
The LED of the signal button will light
up and go out after the sound has
been recorded.
The new sound has been taught. The
other two signal buttons can also be
programmed as described above.
Please note that the identified sounds
will be displayed on the receivers ac-
cording to the symbol of the signal
buttons (»Telephone«, »Door 1« and
»Door 2«).
