c. Warming
The CFRIG3 is designed to keep warm food warm; not to warm up cold food. It will of course warm up cold food
when the food remains in an operating CFRIG3 for a sufficient amount of time. Hot meals will stay hot for a
while after the device has been switched off, provided the door remains properly closed.
•
On the right side of the device, set the function switch [2] in the HOT position. The red LED [1] will
light up.
•
Leave the device switched off for at least 5 minutes when switching from cooling to heating or vice versa.
6. Energy saving tips
To save energy in cooling mode, we recommend:
•
Place the device in a cool, dry spot away from direct sunlight or heat sources.
•
Always allow food to cool before storing it in the refrigerator.
•
Do not open the refrigerator more than necessary.
•
Do not leave the door open any longer than necessary.
7. Cleaning and maintenance
•
Switch the device off before cleaning and unplug it from the power supply.
•
Clean the device before using it for the first time.
•
Keep the device clean at all times.
•
Take a cloth and moisten it with lukewarm water to clean the device. Pay attention that no water drops into
the seals.
•
Do not use solvents, acids, abrasives, or any sharp tools to clean the device.
•
Dry the device off after cleaning.
•
Storage: If you are not going to use the device for a lengthy period of time, clean it and let it dry out
completely before storing it. Leave the door slightly open to prevent mould.
8. Troubleshooting
a. The CFRIG3 does not function (DC power) and the fan at the rear is not turning.
•
There is no power from the cigarette lighter. In most vehicles, the ignition has to be switched on for the
cigarette lighter to be supplied with current.
b. The ignition is switched on but the CFRIG3 does still not receive power.
•
Remove the plug from the socket and check if the cigarette lighter is not clogged with burnt tobacco. If this
is the case, clean it with a non-metal brush and solvent until the middle contact point is clean.
•
Check if the vehicle fuse for the cigarette lighter (5A/12V) isn't blown.
c. The cigarette lighter plug gets very warm.
•
Remove the plug from the socket and clean the socket.
•
The plug may not have been assembled correctly. Take it to an authorized dealer for repair.
d. The CFRIG3 does not cool satisfactorily and the fan at the rear is not turning.
•
The fan motor is probably defective. Take the device to an authorized dealer for repair.
e. The CFRIG3 does not cool satisfactorily but the fan at the rear is working.
•
The Peltier element is probably defective. Take the device to an authorized dealer for repair.
f.
The CFRIG3 does not cool in AC mode
•
Is the power cable properly connected?
•
Is the cooling mode selected and is the green LED lit?
•
The integrated power supply is probably defective. Take the device to an authorized dealer for repair.
