6. TROUBLESHOOTING
THE DEVICE DOES NOT VACUUM BAGS
•
Check if the power cord is properly plugged into the power supply.
•
Check if the power cord is damaged.
•
Check if the electrical outlet is working by plugging in another appliance.
•
Make sure the cover is properly locked.
•
Make sure the bag is properly placed inside the vacuum chamber.
•
To prevent the device from overheating, allow the appliance to rest for 40 seconds
between uses and keep the cover open while cooling.
THERE IS STILL AIR IN THE BAG AFTER THE PROCESS
•
Make sure the opening of the bag is placed entirely inside the vacuum chamber.
•
Examine if the bag has leaks. Seal the bag with air, immerse it in water and apply pressure.
Bubbles make clear the presence of leaks; use a new bag if bubbles appear.
•
A wrinkle in the bag along the seal may cause leakage and allow air to re-enter. In this
case, put the bag under the seal and reseal it.
•
The bags are manufactured with special side seams which are sealed all the way to the
outer edge. Making your own side seams may cause leakage and allow air to re-enter.
AIR WAS REMOVED FROM THE BAG BUT HAS RE-ENTERED AGAIN
•
Examine the seal of the bag. A wrinkle along the seal may cause leakage and allow air to
enter. Simply cut the bag under the seal and reseal it.
•
Sometimes moisture or food fluids (such as juices, grease, crumbs, powder, etc.) along
the seal prevents the bag from sealing properly. Cut the bag under the seal, wipe the inner
top of the bag and reseal it.
•
If you vacuum a package with sharp foodstuffs, the bag may have been damaged. Use a
new bag if there is a hole. Cover the sharp foodstuffs with a soft material such as kitchen
paper and reseal the bag.
If there is air in the bag due to fermentation or bad storage conditions, food may have begun
to spoil and should be.
