2. Range of applications and improper use
The APW30 battery-operated hydraulic compression tool is suitable for crimping
connectors with a conductor cross-section of up to 400 mm
crimping live parts. The tool does not provide insulation. The battery-operated hydraulic
tool must be used in areas with lighting levels of at least 400 lux or daylight.
The crimping tool has been designed to be used by qualified, suitably trained

electricians, who possess the necessary experience.

The crimping tool must only be used by persons who have the necessary physical
characteristics, are sufficiently stable and are able to react to sudden unexpected
movements.
The hydraulic crimping tool must be used by one operator only at any one time.

Before using, move all persons away from the hazard area.
■
The crimping tool must be used exclusively as a manual tool.
■
■
The tool is not designed for stationary use and must not be locked in position using
locking devices.
The crimping tool is not suitable for crimping live components.
■
Any use not covered in the following chapter shall be considered non-compliant with the
intended use and is therefore not permitted. The indications set out in this instruction
and maintenance manual must be strictly followed.
