Electric connection

Before you plug the power plug into the power outlet, ensure that the mains
voltage corresponds with that of the appliance. You can find information about
this on the rating plate. Only connect the appliance to a properly installed
earthed socket.

Before initial use

1. Clean the grill plates as described under "Cleaning".
2. Close the contact grill.
3. Operate the appliance with the closed grill plates for about 10 minutes
without any food (see "Using your contact grill").
NOTE: This process normally produces a small amount of smoke. Ensure
adequate ventilation.
4. Disconnect the mains plug from the wall socket.
5. Let the appliance cool down completely.
6. Wipe the grill surfaces with a damp cloth.
7. Your appliance is now ready to use.

Using your contact grill

CAUTION: Do not use this product to cook or defrost frozen food. All food must
be completely defrosted before cooking it with this product.
1. Plug in and set the temperature control to the required temperature. The
grill is ready for use when the temperature light goes out.
2. Add the food and position the drip tray or other suitable container under
the drip spout.
3. Cooking times required will vary according to individual preferences and
the size/thickness of the food being cooked.
4. The temperature light will come on and off as the grill maintains the correct
temperature.
5. When the food is cooked, carefully remove the food using a wooden or
plastic spatula. Do not use metal utensils as they will scratch and damage
the non-stick surface.
6. Switch off and unplug after use.
7. Allow the grill to cool completely before cleaning.
