Setting up the balance with the PP-B10

Attaching PowerPack to balance.
Switch on balance.
To prolong the operating time of the Powerpack appreciably, it
is advisable to activate the automatic shutdown (A.off) in the
menu of the balance (see operating instructions of the balance,
section 4).
Fail-safe operation of the balance
• Attach PowerPack to the balance and with AC adapter to
power supply.
After a power failure: PowerPack will be recharged automa-
tically.

Operation of the balance is identical, irrespective of whether the
balance is powered by the supply line or the PowerPack.

When the charge display lights up:

• Complete discharge shortens the lifetime of the battery.
Charging the PP-B10 PowerPack
Attach PowerPack to power supply with AC adapter.
Notes
– Charging time: approx 10 hours.
– When the PowerPack is fully charged, the charging process
stops automatically.
– If the balance is in operation during charging, the charging
time is appreciably longer.
If PowerPack not in use: charge approx. every 6 months.
Cautionary notes
A lead battery is incorporated in the PP-B10
PowerPack. This battery contains lead and sul-
phuric acid in the form of a gel.
Sulphuric acid is highly corrosive.
Hence,
– do not open
– do not expose to flame (explosion hazard)
– do not short circuit
the battery.
If sulphuric acid escapes owing to damage:
– avoid skin contact
– wipe off acid with a cloth
On skin or eye contact with acid: immediately rinse with co-
pious amounts of water.
Disposal
The battery contains lead. Lead is toxic and can pose a hazard
to people and the environment. Return used batteries to point
of purchase or dispose of as hazardous waste.
