• Wear protec tive goggles, ear protec tors and
facemask. Wear protective gloves and sturdy
footwear.
• Wear protective hair covering to contain long hair.
• Handle the tool firmly with both hands whilst
operating it.
• If there is a jam, stop the machine immediately and
unplug it from the mains Do not start work again
until you have removed the cause of the jam; if it is
caused by the machine itself, please send it to an
approved technical service.
• Whenever possible, provide a device to block the
part being worked on so that it does not slip.
• If you need to use an extension cable, the wires must
have a minimum section of 1,5mm² and the cable
must be fully unwound.
Outdoor use PRCd residual current device
(ground fault interrupter switch ) 30 mA.
• Always ensure that the tool is switched oFF before
plugging into the mains.
• Before the sanding surface reaches the work piece,
you should switch on the tool. Before switching off
the tool, you should lift it from the work piece.
• Do not touch the running sanding belt.
• Do not continue to use worn, torn or heavily clogged
sanding belts.
• When sanding metal sparks are generated, do
not use the dust bag and keep other persons and
combustible material from work area.
• Never put the tool down on the table or work piece
unless switched off and all moving parts have come
to a complete standstill.
• Always check that the supply voltage is the same as
the voltage indicated on the nameplate of the tool.
• For safety and efficiency, only use original spares
and accessories

MAINS PLUG REPLACEMENT
(U.K&IRELAND oNLY)
• If it is necessary to change the fuse in the plug, the
fuse cover must be refitted.
• If the fuse cover is lost or damaged, the plug must
not be used until a suitable replacement is fitted.
• Make sure the colour of the replacement fuse cover
corresponds with the marking on the base of the
plug.
• Should your mains need replacing and you are
competent to do this, proceed as instructed below. If
you are in doubt, contact an authorized Perles agent
or a qualified electrician.
• Disconnect the plug from the supply.
• Cut off the plug and dispose of it safely; a plug with
bared copper conductors is dangerous if engaged
in a live socket outlet.
• only fit 13 Amperes BS1363A approved plugs fitted
with the correctly rated fuse (fig. below, ref. A).
• The cable wire colours, or a letter, will be marked at
the connection points of most good quality plugs.
Attach the wires to their respective points in the plug
(see below). Brown is for Live (L) (fig. below, ref. B)
and Blue is for Neutral (N) (fig. below, ref. D).
• Before replacing the top cover of the mains plug
ensure that the cable restraint (fig. below, ref. C)
is holding the outer sheath of the cable firmly and
that the two leads are correctly fixed at the terminal
screws.
Never use a light socket. Never connect the live
(l) or neutral (N) wires to the earth pin marked
E or
• The tool is designed to operate on 240VAC 50Hz.
Connecting it to any other power sources may
damage the unit.
• There are no user serviceable parts inside.
• Always refer to qualified service personnel.

Unplug the tool before you perform any work on

CHANGING THE SANDING BELT (FIG. 2)
• Pull the clamping lever (7/Figure 2).forward.
• Remove the sanding belt (3/Figure 2) out of its
place.
• Insert the new sanding belt making sure that the

• Push the clamping lever (7/Figure 2) back.
• Run the tool and rotate the knob (4/Figure 2) to centre
the sanding belt on the roller (6/Figure 2)

DUST SUCTIoN (FIG. 1)
Always fit the dust bag or a dust vacuum extractor
designed in accordance with the applicable
directives regarding dust emission when sanding
wood.
Do not use a dust bag or a vacuum extractor
without proper spark protection when sanding
metal.
