During transformer vacuum process, there is need to keep the disk valve locked in open
position so as to not damage the gasket. It is recommended to hook a weight (about
1 kg) on the reset lever (see picture 2, pos. 6).
When the shutter valve operates - through the closing of the disk valve - there is no
longer passing of oil in the pipe from the conservator to the transformer.
After having found and removed the causes of the failure and before to energise the
transformer, there is need to restore the functionality of the shutter valve.
In order to do this, it is necessary to pull down the reset lever placed on the right side
of the shutter valve body (see picture 2, pos. 6) so as to allow the disk valve opens and
the oil flows.
Then there is need to carry out the air bleeding by using the breather cocks (see picture
2, pos. 1).
In case a by-pass is applied temporarily, there is need to pay attention when the pipe is
connected again to the shutter valve. The restoring of the shutter valve has to be carried
out as described above.
A special shutter valve is available on demand. It is provided with a hydraulic system of re-
setting disk, at man-height.
It is advised to verify recurrently the correct working of the electric contacts by using the
mechanical test push button (see picture 2, pos. 10). The push button acts directly on the
valve by closing the disk; after this operation there is need to reset the shutter valve
through the reset lever (see picture 2, pos. 6).
