5.1.1. CHANGING THE BATTERIES

Change the batteries whenever the image on the screen is unclear and the word "LO" appears
on the display.
1. Remove the cover to the battery compartment (g) located in the scales.
2. Replace the AAA type batteries. Check the batteries are correctly in place in accordance with
the diagram in Figure 3.
3. Close the cover to the compartment correctly.

5.1.2. OPERATING ENVIRONMENT

Be sure to place the scales on a firm horizontal surface in order to avoid damage to the equipment
and to ensure the accuracy of the readings.

5.2 USING THE SCALES

1. Press the "ON/OFF" button (f) to turn the scales on. All the display (d) items will appear for a
few seconds.
2. Press the "Weight Unit" button (b) when "0.00" appears on the screen to set the weight to "kg",
"lb" or "oz". The option you have selected will appear on the display (6).
3. The scales are now ready for use.
4. The Tare function enables you to remove the weight of accessories such as towels to prevent
registering a false reading when weighing your baby in this manner. You should first weigh these
objects and then press the Tare button (e). The word "TARE" will appear on the display and only
what is placed on the scales from then on will be weighed.
5. Place the baby on the scales when "0.00" (kg/lb/oz) appears on the screen.
6. The definitive weight will be registered on the display when the word "HOLD" appears. The
scales will turn off automatically after one minute.
7. If the baby moves during the process you may use the "HOLD" function. Turn on the scales
(conducting the tare process where necessary) and place the baby in position. You will notice
the reading on the display varies slightly when the baby moves. Press the "HOLD" button (c)
and the word "HOLD" will start to flash on the display. As long as the word "HOLD" is not flashing
the scales will read your baby´s weight correctly. The scales will turn off automatically after one
minute.
